I’d like to think the reason my three were asked to trial the milkymate is because they are so ridiculously adorable. Another reason is, the pioneer is a lovely and caring lady who understands the needs of mothers with multiples. Margy has put extreme care into designing the milkymate, including choosing organic lightweight materials to ensure the highest quality and care for our babies

Before I used this product, I did my own due diligence; that’s what medical researchers do after all. Also, I took note of the guidance on the box, which highlights all the important points it should.
Do not use when babies are lying flat as it could cause ear infection. The tube of the ear opens into the throat and when a baby eats lying down, the milk or formula can flow from the throat into the ear and could contain bacteria, which can cause an ear infection. This infection could spread to other parts of the baby’s body. To avoid this, put your baby in its bouncer chair or similar and always keep them in an upright position.
Do not leave your baby unattended in case of choking. If you’re not closely supervising your baby, there’s a risk it can breathe in the milk instead of swallow and choke. I am always with my babies when I use the milkymate and I haven’t had to ever pull the bottle away; however, I would never take the risk and milkymate reinforces this message.
Finally, there’s a chance you can rot your babies teeth if you prop the bottle and feed lying down flat. Liquid can pool in the mouth. I make sure I use the milkymate for half my babies feed and when I’ve settled them down, I then change their nappy and start the second part of their feed by me giving them a bottle and lots of cuddles.

Margy ‘gets’ us; she has had twins herself and is now a grandmother to twins. Sometimes these little people get hungry at the exact same time. It just can’t be helped and the sound of their crying getting higher pitched by the second is enough to make your stomach churn. You don’t want to let them down and you don’t want their crying to spread like a wild bushfire – waking one another up! But sometimes that can’t be helped, so when it does happen (and it often does), the milkymate is here to save the day. As I said, I will let my three have half their milk before I burp them and give them their seconds individually.
The milkymate appeals to me because, frankly, even though I breastfeed and express, I don’t have three breasts and I only have two arms. It doesn’t compensate for cuddles & bonding and it doesn’t try to and as with anything it should be used responsibly. It just gives you time to feed your hungry babies and settle them without leaving any of them waiting for their turn.
This is a product I would highly recommend as long as it is used under strict supervision and in circumstances where you are feeding more than one distressed baby. I can now put away my fiddly muzlin cloths.
